Einstein photographic lighting from Paul C Buff

For the last week I've had the fortunate pleasure of testing out a new product on shoots, The new Einstein lights are not yet available in Australia (but yes you can order them here)  http://paulcbuff.com.au/cms/ Im very use to using the Elinchrom 600rx in studio and use them daily, all I can say is that Im ordering at least 2 Einsteins, I found them very reliable, perfect exposure every time and perfect colour temp each time, even at 4fps (see the photo below) (and yes it can shoot faster) and all operated from battery (vagabond) I had 4 lights hooked up at once with no problems. Why are head shots so important?????

WHY YOUR HEADSHOT IS SO IMPORTANT

So you have taken some acting or modelling classes, been on some auditions and castings and you are wondering why no one is beating down your door to star in the next fashion advertising campagne or film. Well, probably because they do not know you exist. No offense, but most likely they don’t. How will they find out that you are a wonderful model or actor? Well the first thing they will probably see of you, whether they are an agent, a director or a casting person – is your headshot.

That’s right. Your headshot enters the room long before you do. It is the chance to make that ever so important first impression. You may be mailing it in for a casting notice or handing it to a moderator at an audition, but it will get in the room before you do. As a matter of fact, it will most likely determine whether or not you get in the room at all. You want it to jump off the paper and yell at them “Cast me! I am the one you are looking for!”

Well I thought it was about time I did this, Id been wanting to shoot Michelle again for a long time, she would have to be my favourite Australian model at present and again she totally lived up to what I think of her. It was actually my beautiful partner and makeup artist Kymberly Salmons idea to get me motivated to actually do it,(so its all her fault), with the amazing talent of Josie Callipari from www.styla.com.au for the hair and the glamorous designs from Glamorous-Life Swimwear www.GlamorousLifeSwimwear.com and Shiraz bridal www.shirazbridal.com.au we couldn't really go wrong.....or could we????

Epic Creations shoot 20/9/10

Had a WET (very wet "shakes head") fun filled day with the epic crew, it was a long 12 hour shoot with over 50 participants, lots of fun and amazing image will soon be seen. Here's a couple to start, stay tuned on this one.
